Orthodontic calculations — in two minutes instead of half an hour

Model indices, cephalometric analysis by 14 methods, STL scans and CBCT. The calculation runs on the device: radiographs and patient records are not sent to a server.

You take the measurements — the app handles the tables and the arithmetic

Thirteen model indices: Bolton (1958), Pont (1909), Linder-Harth, Korkhaus, Tonn, Gerlach, Little (1975), Snagina (1965). No looking up a table and no long division — the value appears next to its norm immediately. The list of indices follows the stage of dentition: in the mixed dentition it will not offer what belongs to the permanent one. If a tooth is missing, its width is taken from the contralateral tooth and the calculation is not interrupted.

Bolton (1958), anterior ratio 3–377.2% ± 1.65
Bolton, overall ratio 6–691.3% ± 1.91
Tonn — maxillary to mandibular incisor sum1.35 / 1.22
Pont and Linder-Harthpredicted arch width 4–4 and 6–6
Korkhauslength of the anterior arch segment
Gerlachcrowding / macrodontia / arch narrowing
Littledisplacement of contact points, mm
Snaginaapical base, % of 12 teeth
Leeway space (Nance, 1947)space reserve in the mixed dentition
Tanaka-Johnston (1974)width of unerupted canines and premolars
Overjet / Overbitesagittal and vertical incisor relationship

Stages of dentition: primary, mixed, permanent. Occlusion: orthognathic, edge-to-edge.

Place the landmarks once — receive every analysis you selected

The methods are selected before landmark placement, and the app asks for exactly the landmarks they require — 47 in a row, with no returning to the list. The magnifier with a crosshair puts the landmark where you are aiming, not under your fingertip. The value is visible as the landmark goes down: if a landmark has drifted, it shows immediately rather than in the finished calculation.

From a scan — the same measurements as with calipers

A wizard leads through eight steps, up to 66 landmarks on the model. The measurements are then taken automatically and go straight into the calculation — there is no copying figures from paper into the record, and with that the main source of errors disappears.

A volume instead of a flat image

Opens DICOM, displays slices in three planes and the volume itself. Cephalograms are generated directly from the CBCT — lateral and posteroanterior; the scale is known, so there is nothing to calibrate. From there, 57 landmarks in 3D produce 41 measurements across 12 methods.

It can be used right now

The app works and is on sale, but it is developing as it goes: some capabilities are still being refined, others will appear later. If you run into something inconvenient, write to orthoindices@gmail.com — the developer reads the mail.

Indices can be calculated straight in the browser. The full workflow — patients, scans, CBCT, reports — is in the app for iPhone and iPad.

How it works

1

An image or a model

A lateral cephalogram, an STL scan, a DICOM series or measurements taken from a plaster model.

2

The clinician places the landmarks

A magnifier with a crosshair, a single sequence, calibration in real millimeters. Values are computed as the landmarks go down.

3

A finished report

PDF, CSV, JSON, form 043-1/u, a combined report, comparison of visits, photo protocol.

In plain terms

The software does the calculation, from the landmarks placed by the specialist. Clinical decisions are made by the clinician.

Questions and answers

Is an internet connection required?

Calculations and work with patient records are offline. The internet is needed to sign in and to verify the subscription.

Does one subscription cover all devices?

Yes, the subscription is tied to the account and works both in the app and in the web account. Up to 5 devices on a paid plan.

Is there an Android version?

No. There is an app for iPhone and iPad and a web calculator in the browser.

Can I pay with a card issued by a Russian bank?

Yes, in the web account on the site. The receipt required by Federal Law 54-FZ is sent to your email automatically.

Does the subscription renew by itself?

Paid in the web account — no, renewal is manual (we send an email reminder). Paid through the App Store — yes.

Does the software make a diagnosis?

No. It calculates from the landmarks placed by the clinician and does not replace clinical judgment.

What happens to patient data?

Patient records are stored on the device in encrypted form.

What does “open beta” mean?

The app is already in use, and payment and subscriptions work as usual. At the same time we keep adding and correcting things — notable changes are announced by email, and comments sent to our address go straight into the work plan.
